Citizens of Norway are applying to the Russian Embassy to participate in a program for resettling compatriots in Russia, news agency RIA Novosti reported. The agency cited representatives of the diplomatic mission.

Diplomats said they receive applications from Russian citizens eligible for the resettlement program. They added that applications also come from compatriots who hold Norwegian and European Union citizenship.
Russian Consul General in New York Alexei Markov previously stated that Ukrainians living in the United States have increasingly inquired about the resettlement program. Markov said motives for moving vary for each person.
