Peruvian television host Magaly Medina criticized former race car driver Mario Hart after Venezuelan influencer Korina Rivadeneira revealed financial pressure during her pregnancy.
Medina discussed Rivadeneira's public statements during the Thursday, August 20 broadcast of her entertainment show Magaly TV, la firme, which airs on Peruvian television network ATV. Joined by commentator and journalist Monica Cabrejos, Medina analyzed the breakdown of the celebrity couple's marriage. Medina acknowledged that while Hart had been respectful when publicly announcing the separation, Rivadeneira's revelations about their household finances raised serious questions.
Rivadeneira, a Venezuelan model and influencer who established her career in Peru, opened up about the divorce in a series of emotional social media posts. She stated that Hart, a professional driver and media personality, was the one who initiated the split. Rivadeneira added that the father of her children changed his attitude toward her after she became a mother, identifying that change as the decisive moment that led to the end of their relationship.
The influencer broke down in tears during her video statement as she asked her online followers to stop judging her. Meanwhile, Hart disclosed that following the separation, their young daughter pointedly remarked to him that he no longer slept at the family home.
Rivadeneira stated that she was forced to work throughout the entirety of her marriage, including while pregnant and during her postpartum recovery period. She explained that Hart demanded a strict 50/50 division of household expenses, requiring her to pay half of the monthly salary for their children's nanny, half of the food costs, and half of the diaper expenses.

Magaly Medina Reacts to Financial Demands
Addressing the claims on air, Medina said the financial requirement bothered and affected her deeply. The television host observed that while men and women hold equal rights in a modern, egalitarian society, a woman recovering from childbirth should work out of choice rather than being burdened by a mandatory obligation to pay half of essential childcare costs.
Medina described Rivadeneira's account as a painful part of her public statement. The presenter remarked that the revelations left Hart looking very bad, stating that she could not imagine being with a stingy partner who refused to act as a provider and sent his wife to work during her postpartum period.
The host's supportive comments marked a noticeable turn in her coverage of the influencer. Days earlier, Medina had mocked Rivadeneira over an awkward social interaction involving the lead singer of Venezuelan reggae pop band Rawayana. However, Medina set aside her earlier criticism on Thursday to express sympathy over Rivadeneira's financial treatment during the marriage.
Medina is one of Peru's best-known entertainment journalists, presenting her celebrity news program Magaly TV, la firme on the ATV network. Both Hart and Rivadeneira previously rose to fame as contestants on Combate, a popular Peruvian reality television competition series on ATV where public figures competed in physical endurance challenges.
