American rapper Kanye West's upcoming concerts in Russia have triggered a new wave of ticket scams targeting music fans across the country, according to Russian cybersecurity service MTS Zashchitnik.
Fraudsters are posing as independent concert agencies and contacting fans with offers to resell tickets at supposedly advantageous prices. The scammers are taking advantage of high demand and the fact that official lower-priced tickets for the performances have already sold out.
According to reports from state news agency RIA Novosti citing MTS Zashchitnik, the fraudsters attempt to convince buyers by claiming to hold special seat quotas or exclusive tickets issued directly by event organizers. Targets are instructed to click a provided web link to complete their purchase or make an advance money transfer.
Victims who send payment ultimately receive fraudulent tickets that will not be accepted at the venue entrance. Security analysts at MTS Zashchitnik highlighted that legitimate ticket agencies never cold-call potential buyers to offer resold concert tickets.
Saint Petersburg concert details
The upcoming performances mark Kanye West's planned return to the country as part of his ongoing world tour. The American artist is set to give two consecutive concerts in Saint Petersburg on October 10 and October 11, 2026.
Both shows will be hosted at the Gazprom Arena. Official ticket prices for the two concerts span a wide range, starting at 9,000 rubles for basic admission and reaching 160,000 rubles for premium seating.
