The regional government of Extremadura, known as the Junta de Extremadura, has resolved its subsidy call to provide 11,275 training places for employed workers. The initiative has a budget of seven million euros, which is three million euros more than in the previous edition.
The resolution covers 110 training programs with 441 specific training actions delivered by 59 entities over a total of 57,240 hours. Available places grew by nearly 86 percent from the 6,071 spots in the preceding call, allowing more than 5,200 additional workers to participate.
Training will cover 10 strategic sectors: Transport, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Hospitality and Tourism, Commerce and Logistics, Construction, Environment, Siderometallurgical Industry, Health and Care, Personal Image, and Agriculture.
Program Budget and Priority Sectors
General training programs account for more than 55 percent of the total budget, receiving 3.86 million euros. These programs comprise 216 training actions and 6,763 places designed to strengthen skills across all economic activities, including digitalization, administrative management, foreign languages, entrepreneurship, and workplace risk prevention.
Among specific economic sectors, Health and Care leads investment with more than 780,000 euros. This sector allocation includes 24 programs, 90 training actions, and 1,137 places.
Regulatory Framework and Advance Payments
This is the first subsidy call conducted under the new regulatory framework established by Decree 184/2025. The decree expanded the included productive sectors from eight to ten and modified program execution conditions.
Under the new rules, the initial advance payment for beneficiary entities has increased from 50 percent to 60 percent. The measure provides organizations with greater initial liquidity to develop training programs more smoothly.
