Looking into the rooms, you can see how the inhabitants lived, both poor peasants and richer hosts. The museum also has a restored noble manor house, a 18th-century wooden church moved from Drążdżew and a traditional inn, where you can taste regional dishes. Every detail, from home gardens to farm animals grazing in the meadows, makes the place extremely realistic.
The museum, however, is not only a static exhibition. Numerous craft workshops, demonstrations of old culinary techniques are organized here, as well as thematic events such as honey -like or harvest. In the summer season, the open -air museum is teeming with life, and fields full of beaves of hay. It is not without reason that the Mazowiecka Village Museum has become a film plan for great productions. It was here that the scenes for “Pan Tadeusz”, “Fire and Sword” or “Centenary of the Guilty” were shot, as well as numerous ads and music videos. The filmmakers loved this place for his authenticity and atmosphere, which cannot be fake in the studio.

Although the open -air museum is the biggest attraction of Sierpc, the city has much more to offer. A walk around the historic center allows you to discover charming tenements, an elegant town hall and an impressive church of St. Wita, whose interior impresses with details. It is also worth visiting the Park Adama Mickiewicza, where in the shade of old trees you can take a break from everyday rush.
Lovers of folk art will find here exhibitions full of Masovian sculptures and chapels, and in around the city you can admire traditional wooden huts. In the evening, Sierpc takes on a unique atmosphere, and the illuminated market and cafes encourage you until relaxation. It is an ideal place for a calm, but impressed trip.
