The cartoonist from San Sebastian Elena Odriozola has been awarded this Friday with the Grand Prix of the Bratislava Biennale of Illustration (BIB), the organizers reported at the opening of the 28th edition of the prestigious Slovak contest.
Odriozola (Donostia-San Sebastián, 1967) has obtained the BIB award, which presents the best production in illustration for children and young people of the last two years, for his work in the book Mixed feelings.
The cartoonist, who in 2015 won the National Illustration Award of Spain in 2015, studied art and decoration, and began working in 1997 as an illustrator.
Since then his drawings have appeared in more than a hundred books published in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Taiwan, in Spanish and other languages, such as Basque, Galician, Catalan, English, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Italian, Brazilian, Dutch, Polish and Turkish.
This Biennale is held from October 15 to January 9, 2022 at the Bratislava Castle (Slovakia).
