“What shouldn’t a mother-in-law do?” This was the question asked to our interlocutors. Many of them immediately had smiles on their faces. And that’s not the only thing they have in common. Many of them gave quite similar answers. It seems that this one feature has largely contributed to hundreds, if not thousands, of mother-in-law jokes. Interestingly, both women and men know this problem very well.
What shouldn’t a mother-in-law do? “Clean up under the bed”
– Too much interference in the life of a married couple – said one of our interlocutors. – For example, submit comments about lifestyle, raising children, how to cook dishes on the table and solutions related to recreation.
Interfere in her son or daughter’s marital affairs and clean under their bed. I heard this happens. Fortunately, not at my place, because I have a mattress on the floor
– another person laughed.
– She definitely shouldn’t interfere too much in her children’s lives, e.g. by limiting their freedom to make decisions. It often happens that people want to live their lives, and their mother or mother-in-law does not allow it – said one of the interlocutors with a smile.

– Consider that only she can cook, because she does it best – another person started, and then added:
Basically getting into the relationship, treating her son as if he was her “lover”. She should not treat her son or daughter’s relationship as if it were hers. She should leave it to those concerned and let them decide for themselves.
