Edson Dávila has broken his silence after Ethel Pozo accused him of betrayal, saying he has never acted disloyally and prefers to let time show what really happened.
Dávila addressed the controversy on a recent episode of the podcast 'Edson pa' qué más', where host Ric La Torre asked him directly whether he considered himself a traitor. The host and dancer denied the characterization, though he avoided directing any attacks at Pozo, the daughter of Gisela Valcárcel.
What Dávila said about the accusations
Dávila said he has never been a traitor. He said that when someone leaves a job, the right thing to do is say thank you for the opportunity and move on with their career, adding that as time passes after someone leaves, people start saying he was bad, and now it turns out he is a bad person.
Dávila said he does not intend to argue or fight with television monsters because he is still starting out. He said people should be allowed to talk, but that in the end everything always comes out.
What Ethel Pozo said about Dávila
Pozo's version of events surfaced as she recalled her final months on 'América hoy'. She said she initially believed the entire GV Producciones team would leave América Televisión to continue their careers on another channel, but later began noticing changes around her.
Pozo said she chose not to ask directly because she feared the answer, especially given her friendship with her colleagues. According to her account, Dávila broke down when he learned she already knew what was happening.
Pozo clarified that her frustration was not about Dávila staying on 'América hoy'. Her issue, she said, was that he should have been honest with her and told her he already knew about the situation. She said she believes he made a bad decision, that people can make mistakes, that he should have been honest with her, but that this does not define him, adding that they have always gotten along well. She also suggested her former co-host may have received bad advice.
