The recent obtaining of the seal Safe Travel In the district of Huanchaco it originated a greater presence of national and foreign tourists, since it was considered a biosecure destination, as revealed by Mónica Guzmán Sosa, municipal manager of Huanchaco.
Given this, the municipal authority specified that every weekend more than 12,000 visitors are received, generating an immediate positive impact after obtaining the aforementioned certification in favor of Huanchaco.
He recalled that before obtaining the Safe Travel, restaurants and hotels were practically closed. Currently, these establishments that are located in the Rivera area are activated with biosafety protocols.
“We started with 5,000 visitors and it increased to 7,000 per weekend. Today we are 12,000 tourists per weekend and it is increasing, “he said.
Guzmán Sosa, who recently attended the National and International Reactivation Workshop organized by APAVIT, expressed that in a summer and in normal conditions it would oscillate between 35,000 to 45,000 visitors per weekend.
“You can see that there is a good reactivation. The same businessmen (hotels, restaurants and travel agencies) state that their sales have improved ”, stated the municipal authority.
On that point, Mónica Guzmán Sosa reported that the District Municipality of Huanchaco began training talks on health, biosafety and protocol management.
“Hotel and restaurant drivers have joined this process. We have had a first certification. Now, we are with a second group so that they are certified with the Safe Travel seal ”, he indicated.
