La Libertad: they approve the installation of the large agri-food complex

The private initiative for the installation of a large agri-food complex in La Libertad has the green light, after the Regional Council approved and published the agreement stating that this project is of interest, which will be carried out on an area of ​​78,924 hectares in the that an investment of US $ 20,261,523.56 is estimated and the generation of 3,000 jobs.

“It is megaproject is one of the most important that will be executed in the current administration. It will be a large market that will order the commercialization and distribution of food in the northeastern macro region, with high quality and biosafety standards.”, The regional governor told the press Manuel Llempén Coronel.

This is a private project initiative in assets, which will help the economic reactivation, to be executed by the company Complejo Agroindustrial La Libertad SAC, in three stages, according to development needs. The first phase will have an investment of 91 million dollars. This type of agri-food complex is owned by the most developed countries in the world. In Spain, for example, there is MecaMadrid or Mercaolid.

The aforementioned project in assets was approved by agreement of the Regional Council No. 089-2021-GRLL / CR, unanimously. The land to be used is located in the place known as La Cumbre (E) sector VI-A (2) stage III, at km 591 of the Autopista del Sol (Panamericana Norte), Chicama (Ascope), which was Chavimochic, has no agricultural use and was reserved for urban purposes.

Structure

The complex will have the following structure: Zone A: Food Complex, with an activity zone for fruits, vegetables, meat and sausages, fish, and multipurpose (groceries and others), warehouses for fruit and fish containers, disinfection areas, meat cuts, seafood cookers, conservation chambers, among others.

Zone B: Agri-food industry and supplier park, with cold chain and frozen, transformation, packaging, agro-export and supplier logistics areas. Zone C will be for logistics platforms, with supply areas for regional products and large distribution chains.

Zone D: Operational and management areas, with administrative, security, training spaces, restaurants, banks and complementary commerce, parking for heavy-duty vehicles and service station (gas station, car wash, air, etc.).
