Many families dream of buying their own home, but financial constraints can prevent this dream from coming true. To respond to this need and reduce the housing gap in our country, the Ministry of Housing has been granting, through the Mivivienda Fund, the Family Housing Bonus (BFH) of up to more than S/43,000 in recognition of citizens’ commitment to savings. What is the Family Housing Bonus?

The Family Housing Bonus (BFH) is a subsidy provided by the State free of charge to families with fewer resources to buy, build or improve a home. According to the Mivivienda website, there are three modalities, which we mention below:

  • Buy a home: the bonus is S/43,312.50
  • Build a house: the bonus reaches S/29,700
  • Improve a property: the bonus is S/11,385

Family Housing Bonus of S/43,000: what are the requirements?

According to official information from the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, the Family Housing Bonus is part of the Techo Propio program and to access this subsidy that the State grants to families for free, the following requirements must be met:

  • To purchase a home, a family’s monthly income must not exceed S/3,141 and to build or improve a house they must not exceed S/2,266.
  • The head of a family must declare one or more dependents, who may be his wife, partner, his children, siblings or grandchildren under 25 years of age or children over 25 with disabilities, their parents or grandparents.
  • Not having previously received housing support from the State through the National Housing Fund, the Materials Bank or the Mivivienda Fund.
  • Not have any property registered in the name of the beneficiaries.

Family Housing Bonus of S/43,000: how do I register in the Techo Propio Program?

  • You must register your family group at the nationally authorized offices and centers of the Ministry of Housing. In Lima, you can go to Jirón Camaná 199, Cercado de Lima, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In the case of regional offices, you can click on this LINK.
  • Present your national identity document (DNI) and that of your spouse or cohabitant, if applicable, and have the data of all the members of the family group.
  • If the household is headed by a cohabiting couple without having married, the form must be signed by both. In the event that both are married, said document must be signed by one of them.

How many families benefited from the Housing Family Bonus in June?

According to official information from the Ministry of Housing, 3,708 family housing bonds were delivered during the month of June. To achieve this amount of subsidies, S/126.2 million were paid, of which S/109 million belonged to the own-site construction modality, which benefited 3,310 families.

In addition, the governing body of the housing sector reported that the largest number of housing bonds was delivered in the northern and central regions of the country (1,166 and 1,161). In the case of the east, there were 1.60 bonds granted, while in the south 200, and Lima and Callao 126.
