Doctor Alexander Myasnikov Names Meat Top Vitamin Source

Doctor Alexander Myasnikov has named meat as the largest source of essential vitamins for the human body during a health broadcast on the Russia 1 television channel.

Speaking in a segment dedicated to strengthening the immune system on the medical program On the Most Important Thing, the physician urged viewers to include meat in their daily diet to maintain optimal health.

Myasnikov stated that meat contains higher concentrations of vital nutrients, particularly B vitamins, than any other food type. He noted that such large quantities of these essential compounds are not present in either fruits or vegetables.

He stressed that protecting the immune system requires a broad, balanced diet rather than reliance on a single food group. Alongside meat, he advised people to regularly consume fish, fresh vegetables, and fruit to obtain a complete spectrum of necessary vitamins and trace elements.

Broadcaster and medical background

Myasnikov is a prominent Russian physician, medical author, and broadcaster who leads Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 71 and hosts national television programs. His daily show On the Most Important Thing is broadcast nationwide on Russia 1, a main state television network operated by VGTRK. The episode featuring his dietary guidance was made available for online streaming on the network's Smotrim platform.

Nutritional science recognizes meat and animal proteins as primary sources of the B-complex vitamins, which support cell metabolism, nerve function, and red blood cell production. Although fruits and vegetables supply essential antioxidants and dietary fiber, animal products deliver high concentrations of bioavailable nutrients that plant foods lack.

Medicine cabinet essentials

Myasnikov previously offered guidance on essential medical supplies for home health care, outlining which pain medications should be stored in a standard medicine cabinet. He identified ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, and paracetamol, a widely used analgesic, as primary treatments that every household should keep on hand for managing pain and fever.
