Anna Ulanova has been sentenced to seven years in a general regime penal colony by a Saint Petersburg court after being convicted of killing her mother.
The Krasnoselsky District Court of Saint Petersburg handed down the sentence following a criminal trial, according to the joint press service of the city courts. Investigators and the court established that the fatal incident occurred between August 7 and August 8, 2025. Ulanova, who held a grudge against her mother, consumed an excessive amount of alcohol before attacking her with a knife and a blunt object.
During the assault, Ulanova inflicted at least 44 strikes targeting her mother's head, body, and limbs. Judicial authorities confirmed that the wounds proved fatal and were incompatible with life.

During court proceedings, Ulanova admitted her guilt only partially. She testified to the court that she carried out the attack while in a state of temporary affect.
