Artificial intelligence specialist Jon Hernández has warned that most people are making a key mistake in their daily use of tools like ChatGPT: opening them through a web browser instead of a dedicated app, which he says significantly limits how much of the technology they can actually use.

Hernández made the comments during an appearance on the podcast La Fórmula del Éxito, hosted by Uri Sabat, in a segment that has circulated widely online.
The everyday mistake of using AI in the browser
Hernández said he works with artificial intelligence in a completely different way from most users. He said that if someone's current method of working with AI is through a website, they are doing it wrong.

He argued that the habit of opening a browser tab every time help is needed from an AI tool gets in the way of efficiency, and he laid out a much simpler alternative during the interview.
Downloading the app instead of using the website
Hernández explained that today, artificial intelligence needs to be an application that a person downloads and installs directly on their computer, then works from there. He said installing the program on the device makes working with the technology far more direct, comfortable and integrated into daily tasks.

To illustrate the shift, Hernández pointed to options already offered by major developers in the sector. He cited the "Work" feature in ChatGPT, the "Cowork" tools from Anthropic, and equivalent systems built into Microsoft Copilot.
ChatGPT is the chatbot developed by OpenAI, while Anthropic is the company behind the AI assistant Claude. Microsoft Copilot is Microsoft's AI assistant, built into its Windows operating system and Office applications.
The risk of missing out on most of the potential

Hernández also compared how quickly different companies are moving on this front, saying that Google is a little behind in this respect compared with its direct competitors' downloadable applications.
He closed his warning to Uri Sabat with a stark assessment of the cost of sticking with the traditional browser-based method. He said that anyone working through the web today is not getting 100 percent, or even 50 percent, of the possibilities that artificial intelligence offers.
Hernández's conclusion on La Fórmula del Éxito leaves a clear message for anyone looking to improve their performance with current technology: abandon the website, download the official application onto the computer, and integrate it deeply into everyday tasks.
