Content creator Daniel Alonso Agúndez, known online as YoSoyPlex or Plex, has highlighted his hometown of Toro, a municipality of 8,000 residents in Zamora. The 24-year-old creator, who now lives in Madrid, began recording his first YouTube videos in the streets and countryside of Toro at age 16.
Alonso has built a massive audience through projects including trips around the world and his participation in Ibai's La Velada del Año, with his videos drawing millions of views. At the conclusion of his series La Vuelta al Mundo 3, he dedicated an episode to exploring Toro, where he visited a family winery belonging to his uncle from the company Bodegas Copaboca.

During the visit, Alonso highlighted the prominent wine tradition of his hometown. He encouraged viewers to check the origin of bottle labels when visiting restaurants, noting that many bottles come from Toro and describing its wine as fairly famous in Spain.
Historic Architecture and Medieval Heritage
Toro is a medieval city situated along the Duero river, located about 33 kilometers from the provincial capital of Zamora. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1963, the municipality also enamored singer Aitana and features extensive historical and architectural heritage overlooking the surrounding landscape.

The historic center contains landmarks including the Colegiata, a 12th-century Romanesque church that Alonso visited during his tour. Additional historic structures in the town include the alcázar, which is the oldest building in the city, alongside the Monasterio de Sancti Spiritus el Real, the ermita de Santa María de la Vega, and the main bridge over the Duero river.
Winemaking Tradition and Local Wineries
The local wine culture is anchored by established family enterprises such as the Latarce winery, founded in 2006 as one of the most famous in the region. The winery focuses on producing high-quality wines using native grapes grown in the surrounding area.
Latarce is particularly known for producing red wines made with the region's typical Tinta de Toro grape, as well as white wines and traditional vermouth. Its facilities feature a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and large event halls.
