The Beijing-based consumer electronics manufacturer offers dozens of devices across various price tiers, making consumer choices challenging without expert guidance.
The publication named the standard Xiaomi 17 as the best overall choice for most consumers. The flagship device delivers a balanced combination of processing performance, long battery endurance, and a compact physical design.
The base flagship features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen with a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz and a peak brightness reaching 3,500 nits. Low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology enables the display to dynamically scale its refresh rate to conserve power. The device carries official IP66 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance, indicating protection against high-pressure water jets and continuous submersion. Xiaomi also promises six years of security updates for the handset, extending the operational longevity of the hardware.
For buyers working with a budget under 300 dollars, Gizmochina selected the Redmi 17 5G. The phone features a massive 7,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery that Xiaomi stated can provide up to 30 hours of continuous video playback. Silicon-carbon anode technology allows manufacturers to pack higher energy density into smartphone batteries.
The sub-300 dollar handset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, providing sufficient processing capability to handle demanding mobile games.
