Warner Bros to Host Harry Potter Event at Versailles

Entertainment studio Warner Bros will host a major Harry Potter fan event at the Palace of Versailles in France this Saturday.

The gathering is being organized as part of an annual back-to-school celebration held every year for the global community of Harry Potter fans.

Journalist Ségolène Alunni announced the location during her regular cultural segment on the French morning television show Bonjour ! La Matinale TF1. Reporting for the network's TF1info video team in a feature titled Au pays de Ségolène, she highlighted how the media company brings enthusiasts together every autumn as the school year begins.

Versailles hosts Hogwarts gathering

Alunni took viewers on a virtual journey to Hogwarts, the fictional school of magic central to the Harry Potter series. This year, Warner Bros selected the famous French royal residence to host the festive gathering for what the network described as an enormous event for the Potterphile fan base.

The Palace of Versailles, located in the department of Yvelines southwest of Paris, is one of the most visited historical monuments in France. Once the seat of political power and royal court of King Louis XIV, the 17th-century estate is world-renowned for its grand architecture, expansive formal gardens, and historic Hall of Mirrors.

Annual back-to-school fan tradition

In the Harry Potter universe, young witches and wizards begin their academic term each year on September 1 by boarding the Hogwarts Express. Warner Bros, the Hollywood studio behind the eight feature films based on J.K. Rowling's books, frequently organizes official Back to Hogwarts celebrations around the world to celebrate the start of term with readers and film lovers.

The gathering coincides with la rentrée, the traditional French period in late August and early September when schools reopen and workers return from summer vacations. TF1, France's largest private television network, covers major cultural happenings and entertainment events during its morning news broadcasts.

The Versailles celebration takes place this Saturday following the broadcast of the TF1 news segment on Friday, August 28, 2026.
