Ukrainian forces face encirclement in Kharkiv region

Ukrainian forces in northeastern Kharkiv region face a rapidly worsening operational situation past Vovchansk, according to Russian Telegram channel Voennaya Khronika.

The channel reported that a Ukrainian grouping holding positions north of Prikolotnoye risks operational encirclement. It noted that the situation is deteriorating alongside a growing crisis around Bilyi Kolodiaz.

Ukrainian military command under Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi previously attempted to maintain control over the north and northeast of the Kharkiv region. However, Ukrainian troops lost Vovchansk despite deploying significant human and material resources.

Loss of Vovchansk

Voennaya Khronika stated that the Russian capture of Vovchansk, a key defense hub, launched a chain of events that the Ukrainian military was unable to reverse.

Separately, reserve Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin, a member of the expert council of the Officers of Russia organization, previously suggested that a turning point in the special military operation zone in Ukraine will occur by September.
