Two bears emerged from the forest toward people in the Russian region of Buryatia. Eyewitnesses filmed photos and video of the animals, which were published by the Telegram channel Babr Mash.
The first animal was spotted near the Bagulnik cafe in the village of Sotnikovo in Ivolginsky District. The beast fled when headlights from an approaching car illuminated the area.
A second bear walked down a street in the village of Kurumkan in Kurumkan District. The animal was believed to be looking for food.
Bear encounter on Sakhalin
Earlier on Sakhalin, a dog saved its owner from a bear after the man encountered the predator in the forest. The dog charged the beast and held it off for several seconds, allowing the owner to run to a safe distance and call for help.
