Billions of euros for Poland from the National Reconstruction Plan. There is a decision of the European Union

The European Union has decided on over five billion euros for energy projects from the amended National Reconstruction Plan. The decision was made by the finance ministers of the EU countries in Brussels.

There is consent in the EU to pay an advance payment to Poland in the amount of over five billion euros for energy projects from the amended National Reconstruction Plan. The decision was made by the finance ministers of the EU countries in Brussels, approving the proposal of the European Commission, which gave a positive assessment just over 2 weeks ago. Poland is one of several countries whose revised reconstruction plans have been accepted.

Now the next step is to sign a financial agreement with the European Commission and then the money can be transferred. To begin with, in the first tranche it will be half of over EUR 5 billion. It is not impossible that they will reach Poland before the end of the year or at the beginning of next year. Their purpose is precisely defined – a new chapter of the KPO called RePowerEU is devoted to energy transformation and independence from Russia. Poland submitted its energy transformation investment plan to the Commission at the end of August.

In total, Poland is to receive almost EUR 60 billion from the KPO, of which EUR 34.5 billion are low-interest loans and the rest – just over EUR 25 billion – are non-repayable grants.

The Commission has suspended the payment of money from the KPO for now. Brussels makes consent subject to several conditions, including the independence of the judiciary.
