The principal told the student to undress. The mother of a 14-year-old girl is suing the school

– “This is a situation that should not happen to any child,” the lawyer of the mother of the 14-year-old told the media. The incident happened at a school in Edmond, Oklahoma. It was there that the headmistress ordered the teenager to undress.

The case of the 14-year-old was described by The Washington Post. Journalists reveal that the principal of an Oklahoma school was supposed to search two e-cigarettes she suspected were carrying an e-cigarette behind closed office doors. One girl was told to stand by an uncurtained window overlooking other parts of the school, and then the principal told her to pick up her shirt. The woman later asked “what kind of underwear she wears under her pants.” Finally, she asked the 14-year-old to lift her shirt up high enough to see her bra.

The whole situation shocked the mother of a 14-year-old girl. The woman decided to sue. The lawsuit says the teenager was “improperly and unreasonably subjected to a search and strip search.” The charges include neglect and assault of a minor, violations of basic student rights, and violations of district policy and state law.

Even if the girls were guilty, does the mere possession of an e-cigarette justify treating them this way? This is the crux of the matter.

– says the attorney we have 14-year-olds in an interview with the media.

The girl, in reaction to the stressful situation of the search, started laughing – adds Shelby Shelton.

The teenager stopped going to school

The whole situation traumatized the teenager’s psyche. The girl did not go to school for almost a year after the incident and studied remotely. Her family is constantly trying to sell it so that it can move to another place and start all over again.

This is a situation that should not happen to any child.

says the lawyer.

The Washington Post asked the school’s principal for a comment, but she did not respond to journalists’ request.
