The authors of the review drew attention to the fact that the new device has a modular structure, since most of the components can be removed and replaced. In particular, the specialists were able to easily access the most repairable parts – the battery and the display. In this regard, the authors of iFixit gave the Apple Watch six out of ten points of maintainability.
Also, while studying the device, it turned out that Apple had simplified the design of the gadget. Specifically, the engineers replaced the two cables connecting the display and sensor with a single wire. On the one hand, this has reduced the number of parts. On the other hand, according to experts, the design change caused difficulties in production and a delay in the release of smart watches to the market.
Experts noted that some components from old watches fit new ones. So, they were able to install a battery from Apple Wacth 6 into the current gadget. In addition, experts confirmed the presence of a new wireless diagnostic interface.
