Ancelotti says Vinícius Jr’s phase is no surprise

On the eve of the classic between Barcelona e Real Madrid, this Sunday, at 11:15 am (Brasilia time), at Camp Nou, coach Carlo Ancelotti gave great praise to forward Vinicius Jr., who is going through his top scorer season with the merengue shirt, with seven goals scored in 11 games played.

“It doesn’t surprise me. It’s true that he has scored more goals, which is better, but my perception was the same before I met him. It’s no surprise for me to see this level of performance,” said the coach in an interview to the Movistar+ channel in Spain.

The maximum number of goals the Brazilian had scored in an entire year in Madrid was six in the net in 49 games played in the 20/21 season. Among the goals scored at the moment, the 20 shirt has already made its mark in games for the Spanish Championship e Champions League.

The Italian coach also praised Barcelona’s Spaniard Ansu Fati. The Real commander named the 18-year-old “one of the best young people in the world”.

“He is a great player, he is gradually improving at a technical and tactical level and he is very good at finishing. He is one of the best young players in the world,” he said.

Fighting for the lead in the competition, Real Madrid need the victory in the El Classico to have chances to overtake Real Sociedad and take the top of the table in this round. The club blaugrana, on the other hand, is going through moments of instability in the competition and is in 7th place, outside the classification zone to dispute the European competitions next season.
