Rangers with Russians Panarin and Shesterkin won the President’s Cup
The New York Rangers won the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL). Statistics are available on the league website.
In the final game of the regular season, the Rangers beat the Ottawa Senators 4-0. Russian forward Artemy Panarin scored a goal and an assist, and goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin stopped all 26 shots, completing a shutout.
The win took Rangers to 114 points from 82 games. The team from New York won the President’s Cup ahead of schedule. The club won the trophy for the fourth time: Rangers previously achieved this result in the 1991/1992, 1993/1994 and 2014/2015 seasons.
The regular season will end on April 19. The playoff series will then begin, ending on June 24th.
