the slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) achieved an epic triumph in Lo Port (Tarragona) in another high final that was played again with Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step)who was six seconds behind his great rival in the last hellish meters in which the world champion’s strength failed him.

Thus, Roglic remains as leader of the Volta a Catalunya after this fifth stage and, in addition, he takes 10 seconds of margin with respect to the second classified, Evenepoel.

Third in the stage was the Portuguese Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates), who came 12 seconds behind the Slovenian and is also third overall, 1 minute 12 seconds behind the Jumbo-Visma star.
