Online retailer AliExpress has discounted the Xiaomi Mix Flip foldable smartphone to 484 euros from its official 1,299.99 euro retail price. Tech writer Eva Luna Rivera reported that the sale offers a discount of more than 800 euros compared to the price listed in the official Xiaomi store, alongside free shipping.

Rivera purchased the device for personal use and has tested it as her primary phone for more than a year. She noted that while a standard two-week review demonstrates screen quality, battery life, and camera responsiveness, testing a foldable phone for over a year shows whether a user grows tired of the folding format, uses the secondary screen, or misses a conventional handset.

Rivera stated that after a year of daily use, she would choose the model again. She described the price drop from 1,299.99 euros to 484 euros as an exceptional discount for buyers interested in foldable technology.
Cover display and hinge mechanism
The device folds in half from a display of nearly seven inches into a compact shape that fits easily in any pocket. Rivera noted that her friends nickname the folded device a Tamagotchi because of its small dimensions.
The central hinge allows the smartphone to maintain multiple open angles, enabling it to stand upright on flat surfaces to take group photographs without external support. Manufacturer Xiaomi specified that it tested the hinge mechanism through 500,000 folding cycles.
The exterior cover display measures 4.01 inches and occupies nearly the entire upper front section of the phone. The panel features a 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits.
Rivera explained that the size and brightness of the outer screen allow users to perform core tasks without opening the device. She uses the closed cover screen to reply to WhatsApp messages, control music playback, check notifications, view Google Maps navigation, and browse applications such as X.

Interior panel and Leica camera setup
Opening the phone reveals a 6.86-inch AMOLED interior panel featuring the same 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 3,000 nits peak brightness as the cover display. Rivera said the screen remains clear and fluid during outdoor use, adding that users stop noticing the central crease after two days.
The smartphone features a camera system developed in collaboration with Leica, equipped with two 50-megapixel sensors. The primary camera uses a Light Fusion 800 sensor with optical image stabilization, allowing users to frame self-portraits on the outer screen while shooting with the main camera.
The secondary camera uses a 47 mm equivalent floating telephoto lens that also performs macro photography from distances as close as nine centimeters. Rivera noted that although the device lacks a wide-angle lens, the quality of its portrait photography compensates for the omission.
Processor specifications and battery endurance
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Rivera stated that the hardware handles multitasking, photo editing, social media, and video playback without performance delays.
A 4,780 mAh battery powers the handset, providing enough energy to comfortably exceed a full day of regular operation. The device also supports 67 W fast charging to replenish the battery quickly.
