Fitness trainer and nutritionist Artem Tuzhikov evaluated the effectiveness of strength training for weight loss. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
The specialist noted that often strength training is neglected, fearing that because of them the weight will increase. However, he stated that in order to improve physical fitness, it is important not only to burn fat, but also to maintain muscle tissue in a calorie deficit. “Power loads will help improve body composition in a short time and fix the final result,” Tuzhikov explained.
At the same time, the coach noted that during adaptation to training, beginners can experience a set of muscle mass even without work on increasing strength, but this effect is short-lived. To be most effective, pumping should be combined with cardio and diet.
Earlier, coach Anton Komarevtsev called the side plank an effective exercise for slim legs. He recommended doing it with hip abduction in three sets of 15-20 reps.
