Lima’s water utility Sedapal has announced scheduled water cuts for Saturday, August 1, affecting residents in the district of Lurigancho. The interruptions are linked to maintenance work, valve replacements, pipe repairs and reservoir cleaning.
Depending on the area and the type of work planned, outages will last anywhere from a few hours to most of the day, Sedapal said.
Affected areas and schedules
In Lurigancho, service will be suspended from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the C. P. Virgen del Carmen area, La Era de Nana, third stage, including the sector identified as CR-457 R-04.
Water-saving advice
Sedapal urged residents to adopt water-saving measures during the cuts. The utility recommended turning off taps while brushing teeth or washing hands, shortening shower times, and fixing leaks in pipes and fixtures as soon as they are found.
Other tips include running washing machines only with full loads, reusing water from rinsing fruit and vegetables to water plants, and washing vehicles with a bucket and sponge rather than a hose.
