Writing on the Max messaging platform, Busargin confirmed that no one was killed in the incident. He explained that regional authorities had already worked out an established procedure to provide practical assistance to property owners facing damage in such attacks.

Specialists were sent directly to the strike locations to inspect the destruction and calculate repair costs. In response, municipal officials set up an operational headquarters at the Zavodsky district administration building, while teams began organising a telephone hotline to support affected residents.

Emergency response in Saratov

Saratov is a major regional capital and river port on the Volga River in southwestern Russia, situated roughly 850 kilometres southeast of Moscow. The city serves as the administrative centre of Saratov Oblast, an important manufacturing and agricultural territory located within the Volga Federal District.

The Zavodsky district, where authorities opened the emergency response centre, forms the southern section of Saratov. Taking its name from the Russian word for factory, the area contains heavy industrial plants alongside dense residential housing complexes stretching along the Volga riverbank.

Overnight drone interceptions

The damage in Saratov followed wider aerial activity reported across Russian territory. Earlier on 7 November, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced that air defence forces had shot down a total of 411 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles during overnight operations.

According to the defence ministry, military units intercepted incoming drones over the waters of both the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Both bodies of water border southern Russia, where coastal military installations, radar tracking systems and naval air defence units maintain continuous airspace protection.

Emergency teams in Saratov are continuing their damage assessments on the ground, while district officials prepare to process relief claims and answer inquiries through the new hotline.
