A 34-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk Krai has been arrested by Russian authorities after allegedly publishing anti-Russian comments and calls to support the Ukrainian military on social media.
The regional management of the Federal Security Service (FSB) told news agency TASS that officers located and detained the suspect after he used a personal Telegram account to urge financial support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A local court subsequently sanctioned his detention in custody for two months.
Russian investigators have opened a criminal case against the suspect under Article 280.4 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers public calls for activities directed against the security of the state. If convicted, the man faces between three and six years in prison. Security services reported that officers searched his residence and seized communications equipment that confirmed his involvement in the alleged offenses.
