Russia's Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems shot down 304 drones launched by Ukraine's armed forces in a single day. The ministry reported the mass drone attack in a statement on its Telegram channel.
Air defense systems were active from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on August 4, according to the ministry. The strikes targeted Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Kaluga, Oryol and Tula regions, as well as the Moscow region.
Drones downed over Black Sea
The Defense Ministry added that additional drones were intercepted over the waters of the Black Sea.
It was previously reported that overnight into August 4, Russian air defenses destroyed 320 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. Those strikes hit 19 Russian regions, including Crimea, the Moscow region and the Leningrad region.
