Speaking in an interview with the Public News Service, the frontman of the iconic Russian collective explained that the fans following the group today have become serious adults rather than the young boys and girls who once packed their early concerts.

Zhukov observed that longtime followers have matured into respectable adults, describing them as serious men and women who have built settled lives. At the same time, the singer admitted being astonished by the sizeable number of zoomers now discovering the group, pointing out that members of Generation Z show strong curiosity about the older songs that stood at the origin of modern musical directions.

The musician also stressed that the band has no intention of reducing its public activity or slowing its creative output. He confirmed that the musicians are currently hard at work on a new studio album.

Three decades of Russian dance pop

The remarks follow earlier reflections by Zhukov regarding the secret behind the group's decades of enduring popularity. The singer previously credited songs rooted in genuine life experiences for keeping audiences engaged across the years, acknowledging that when the musicians started out thirty years ago, they never anticipated creating work that would become recognized classics for future generations.

Formed during the 1990s, Ruki Vverh established itself as one of the most commercially successful pop and eurodance projects in Russia and across the wider post-Soviet sphere. Built on fast electronic beats, simple romantic lyrics, and memorable synthesiser melodies, the group produced an array of chart hits that dominated radio airwaves, youth discotheques, and television music channels throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Over the following decades, the group transitioned into an enduring fixture of regional pop culture and nostalgia. While many dance acts from that era struggled to maintain a public profile, Zhukov has continued to tour extensively and fill massive sports arenas, maintaining relevance across multiple generations of Russian music fans.
