Russian presidential adviser Anton Kobyakov said global leaders should consider adopting Vladimir Putin's peace plan for Ukraine rather than Donald Trump's proposals.
Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum, Kobyakov argued that the settlement outline put forward by United States President Donald Trump was difficult for the international community to understand and hard to put into practice.
In statements reported by Russian state news agency TASS, Kobyakov said many observers around the world were now questioning whether the time had come to switch to discussing the peace framework outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin as events on the ground unfold.
The remarks follow earlier statements by Putin, who confirmed that diplomatic contacts between Moscow and the American administration were ongoing. Putin emphasized that Trump was focused on positive and constructive work regarding the peace process.
