Protergia, the power brand of Greek industrial company METLEN, has launched a specialized electricity tariff for student housing across Greece priced at €19.90 per month.
The newly announced Protergia Student Plan covers the fixed customer charge and energy supply fee for up to 115 kilowatt-hours of electricity consumption each month. The baseline allowance is structured to match the typical monthly power consumption of a small student residence.
Moving into a university apartment marks a major transition for young adults and their families, bringing first-time responsibilities such as setting up utilities and managing a personal budget. Protergia stated that the flat-rate structure was created to make energy costs simpler, more transparent, and predictable for young households.
The company emphasized that university life extends beyond domestic apartment management into travel, social activities, and personal discovery. The plan is designed to integrate utility service into a broader lifestyle focused on independence and new experiences.
Student travel and lifestyle discounts
To support student travel, Protergia has partnered with regional airline SKY express to offer plan subscribers a 25 percent discount on flight tickets. The airline savings are intended to make domestic and regional travel more affordable when students visit family or travel during term breaks.
Enrolled customers also gain automatic entry into Protergia Club, an exclusive customer benefits platform that offers recurring discounts from commercial brand partners.
The program includes a 20 percent discount on food orders from Domino's, up to 20 percent off orders placed through the Greek food delivery platform BOX, and a 20 percent discount at coffee retailer Nespresso. Subscribers also receive a complimentary daily access pass for the COSMOTE TV streaming service, alongside additional retail promotions.
Corporate energy initiatives and access
Protergia operates as the primary electricity and natural gas supply unit of METLEN Energy & Resources, one of the largest private energy providers operating in the Greek market. METLEN has expanded its footprint across European energy markets, including major investments in battery energy storage infrastructure.
The provider stated that it is focusing on modern digital solutions to streamline customer management and expand energy access. As part of this effort, the company runs the Protergia Open initiative, which uses accessible digital tools to ensure customers with disabilities can navigate energy services independently.
