Peru's National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has set September 11, 2026 as the final deadline for political organizations and candidates to submit their first financial report for the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections.
The report must include all contributions, income and expenses recorded between January 7, 2026 and September 5, 2026, according to ONPE.
Who must file
The requirement applies to political organizations, candidates whose nominations have been formally registered with the Special Electoral Boards, and their respective campaign managers.
Candidates running for regional councilor or municipal council member are not required to submit the report, a carve-out that ONPE says underscores how strict the measure is for other positions.
How to submit
ONPE has enabled two official channels for filing. Candidates can use the Digital Financing Portal, known as PDF Claridad, to submit electronically.
They can also file physical documents at the intake desks of ONPE's central headquarters in Cercado de Lima, or at the Regional Coordination Offices and Decentralized Electoral Process Offices deployed across the country.
Penalties for non-compliance
ONPE described the filing as a mandatory legal requirement. It said failure to comply generates administrative responsibility and triggers the penalties set out in current electoral regulations.
ONPE added that the measure is meant to promote transparency for citizens and oversight of the financial resources used in the campaign.
