Former La Bella Luz band members Héctor Boza and Eduardo Ortúzar have accused Óscar Junior, son of the cumbia group owner, of mistreating musicians. The statements came after critics questioned the young man over his silence regarding harassment claims involving ex-colleague Naldy Saldaña.
Saldaña reported harassment by her uncle César Chávez, who acts as director of the orchestra. Former band members accused group members of covering up the situation, leading Boza and Ortúzar to speak publicly about Óscar Junior's behavior.
Boza told news outlet Show Pe that Óscar Junior projects a positive image on social media that does not reflect reality. He said Óscar Junior consistently mistreats colleagues, belittles team members, and acts superior toward others in the group.
Allegations Against Family Management
Boza also criticized Óscar Junior's mother, Pilar, stating that she knew about the harassment reported by Saldaña but took no action. He added that Pilar has yelled at him and other band members during their time with the group.
According to Boza, Óscar Junior displays troubling behaviors similar to those of his relative. He said the owner's son presents a false humility publicly while repeatedly shouting at band members in private.
Boza recalled that Óscar Junior once tried to shout at him, but Boza stood up to him. Boza said others labeled him as ill-mannered for defending himself, though he maintained that standing up to mistreatment is a matter of self-respect.
