A sector of Pachakutik questions the candidacy of Yeseña Guamaní, replacing Bella Jiménez, dismissed for acts of corruption
The candidacy of the legislator Yeseña Guamaní to replace Bella Jiménez in the second vice-presidency of the National Assembly continues in analysis within the Pachakutik bench, which hesitates to give its support.
Jiménez, a former assembly member of the Democratic Left, was dismissed on October 12 for acts of corruption, because after an investigation carried out by the Ethics Committee of Parliament it was determined that the former second vice president managed public positions in her office in exchange for financial benefits.
Ten days have elapsed that the post is still vacant in the legislature. Although the coordinators of the blocks of the Democratic Left, Pachakutik and the National Agreement Bank have ratified that they will respect the agreement of last May, which in the midst of the distribution of dignities the second vice-presidency corresponded to the ID, in the Pachakutik sector there is resistance for the nomination of Guamaní.
The issue of the second vice presidency of the legislature will be discussed next Monday in Pachakutik, announced its coordinator Rafael Lucero, and commented that initially the agreement would be maintained that this space would correspond to the Democratic Left, but that does not mean that the candidacy would be accepted. of Guamaní.
“Some voices of the Pachakutik movement have said that the name be changed, and what we have done is convey those concerns of the assembly members to the leadership of the Democratic Left,” said Lucero, but also that the ID does not want to accept that suggestion.

Although he did not want to give names, legislator Rafael Lucero revealed that some of his co-leaders do not agree with the candidacy of Yeseña Guamaní, due to some research issues that the ID candidate would be carrying out to certain local authorities.
Assemblywoman Guamaní assured that there are few Pachakutik legislators who do not agree with her candidacy, however, she said that the agreement that the ID and Pachakutik maintain is maintained and what they seek is to strengthen it. Everything will depend on the vote for this to continue.
In Pachakutik there are voices to support a nomination of the representative of Loja for the Democratic Left Lucía Placencia, but the legislator said that she is respectful of the democratic exercise carried out by the bloc to support the candidacy of Yeseña Guamaní.
That if there is an approach to his candidacy, he added, that it will be respectful of the decision of the party for which he came to the Assembly. (I)
