A video showing Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis handing his microphone to fellow performer Pantelis Pantelidis has resurfaced online following Mazonakis's death, drawing renewed attention from fans on social media.

Mazonakis died on September 9 at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest at a private clinic in the Kolonaki district, leaving behind what fans and colleagues describe as a significant legacy on the Greek music scene.
The moment Mazonakis gave up the microphone
The footage, filmed roughly eight years ago, captures a night when Pantelidis went to the club where Mazonakis was performing to watch him sing. Mazonakis handed him the microphone, and the two singers performed some of their biggest hits together in an embrace, a moment fans say has stayed etched in their memory.
The clip, which had previously been posted on YouTube, began circulating again across social networks as soon as news of Mazonakis's death broke, with large numbers of users reposting the footage.

Fans react online
The reposted video drew a wave of comments from users. Several wrote that the two men should now sing together in the neighbourhood of angels. Others said everyone would eventually watch the pair perform from somewhere above, wishing them rest in peace. Some called it unbelievable that both singers were now gone, wishing Mazonakis a peaceful place in heaven.
Two of Greece's best known voices
Mazonakis was one of Greece's most popular laiko and pop singers, with a career spanning decades of sold-out club performances and hit records. Pantelidis, who died in a car accident in 2016, remains one of the country's most mourned musicians, his songs still widely streamed a decade after his death. The pairing of the two men in the old clip has taken on added weight for fans now that both have died.
