Netflix will remove scores of films and series from its U.S. catalog throughout August 2026, with the heaviest cuts arriving on the first day of the month, the platform announced.
More than 50 titles are set to leave on August 1, including Pretty Woman, American Gangster, Hacksaw Ridge, Ex Machina, National Lampoon’s Animal House, There’s Something About Mary, Tootsie, Borat, Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride Part II, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Little Fockers, Kindergarten Cop, I Feel Pretty, The Secret Life of Pets, Warcraft and The Age of Adaline, among others. Television departures on that date include all eight seasons of Home Improvement and the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Spider-Man trilogy exits August 6
The three Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire will leave the platform on August 6. The departure coincides with the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Also leaving that day are LBJ and Four Letters of Love.
Later in the month, Labyrinth departs on August 8, and Venom: The Last Dance leaves on August 25. Several Netflix originals are also on the removal list, including Better Than Us on August 16, Langston Kerman: Bad Poetry on August 20, and Under Fire on August 24. The animated film Ne Zha exits on August 21.
Dates subject to change
Netflix noted that some removal dates can shift because of licensing agreements. The service may extend a license or pull a title earlier than planned. To check whether a specific title is about to leave, users can open its details page and look for a message indicating it is the last day to watch that title on Netflix.
Among the other notable departures across the month are A Million Ways to Die in the West, Atonement, The Proposal, Everest, Lucy, Click, Splash, Smokey and the Bandit, Fried Green Tomatoes and Boy Erased.
