Naldy Saldaña's lawyer appeared on the program 'Día D' to present phone messages that contradict denials made by her bandmates in La Bella Luz, who had said they knew nothing about the harassment the singer suffered from director César Chávez.
Mackeily Luján, Ariana González and Anely Dávila cried during a press conference as they denied any knowledge of the harassment. They said they were shocked and upset by the evidence being discussed, said they never knew what was happening, and said they were unaware of the events revealed while they were part of the group.
The lawyer's evidence
Saldaña's attorney said the witnesses had WhatsApp conversations that would be reviewed, all coming from his client. He said they had proof and that the La Bella Luz members would have to respond, warning that denying the evidence would amount to a crime. He said the conversations showed Naldy informing them of what was happening, and that he was requesting an expansion of the case because the members were aware. He said the evidence would reach him the next day.
Possible cover-up charges
The lawyer also warned that if Óscar Custodio tried to delete images related to the harassment, he could face cover-up charges carrying two to four years in prison, rising to six years if he is found to have collaborated in concealing the abuse.
La Bella Luz has since returned to performing on stage in Tarapoto, where audiences showed the group their support.
