Police in Montenegro have detained a group of 50 people, including citizens of Ukraine, Moldova, and Slovakia, after discovering complex digital equipment and cash.

The country's police administration announced an investigation into the group. Officers noted that the large quantity and volume of the seized equipment requires trucks to transport.

In a statement, police said authorities are checking the legal grounds for the individuals' stay and work in Montenegro, as well as their movements. Officers are also examining the intended use of the digital devices and looking into potential links to illegal activity.

Earlier security claims

In the spring, Federal Security Service officers stopped an attempt by Ukraine to bring more than 500 explosive devices into Russia. Russian authorities said Kyiv planned to use the devices to organize terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Director of the Russian Federal Security Service Aleksandr Bortnikov stated that Ukraine has become the largest center of arms smuggling in Europe.
