Tourism authorities from Mendoza and Buenos Aires promoted their travel offerings to 50 Peruvian travel agencies and tour operators during a commercial trade mission in Lima. The gathering generated new business opportunities and strategic commercial alliances aimed at strengthening tourism sales between Peru and Argentina.
Led by Mendoza Tourism Board President Gabriela Testa, the Argentine delegation included representatives from Visit Buenos Aires and 16 Argentine tourism service providers. The delegation held business-to-business meetings with 50 industry executives to showcase the primary travel experiences available in both regions.
Testa said growing flight connectivity between Mendoza and Peru prompted tourism officials to deepen promotional actions in what she described as a strategic market for her province. She explained that combining Mendoza's nature, wine, gastronomy and outdoor experiences with the urban culture of Buenos Aires creates a complementary proposal aimed at driving commercial growth and increasing international visitor arrivals.
The program in Lima featured an institutional presentation and a tasting of Mendoza wines, highlighting enotourism and regional cuisine as major attractions. Testa noted that ongoing collaboration between the public and private sectors, combined with strategic partnerships alongside other Argentine destinations, helps enhance Mendoza's presence across priority regional markets.
Expanding Regional Tourism
Mendoza is an Argentine province situated along the eastern slopes of the Andes, world-renowned as the center of Argentina's wine production and outdoor travel. Buenos Aires, the country's capital city, serves as the main international gateway and primary hub for urban tourism and culture. The mission took place under a joint tourism promotion agreement between the Mendoza Tourism Board, known as EMETUR, and Visit Buenos Aires, the agency tasked with marketing the capital city internationally.
The Lima event formed part of a broader international promotional tour that also included activities in Santiago, Chile, and Mexico. The multi-city campaign is designed to strengthen Mendoza's positioning across strategic markets in the Latin American region.
