Colombian singer Maluma has fuelled speculation of a return to Peru after sharing a photograph from Medellin ahead of his planned Loco x Volver world tour.

Maluma sparks Peru concert rumours with street sign photo

Maluma has ignited speculation among fans about a potential concert in Peru after posting a street sign photograph from his home city of Medellin.

The Colombian singer shared an image showing a corner street sign that reads Calle 55, Peru, alongside a caption stating that he was crazy to return to the South American nation.

The publication coincided with preparations for his upcoming global tour, titled Loco x Volver, which the performer recently announced on his official website. The tour itinerary is planned to run across 2027 and 2028, though specific dates and host cities have not yet been made public.

Because official tour dates remain unconfirmed, representatives have not stated whether Peru will be included on the schedule, leaving local supporters awaiting further announcements.

Medellin street sign origins

The image posted by the artist was taken in the Boston neighbourhood of Medellin, Colombia, the city where the musician was born and raised. The photograph displays an intersection marked by a sign bearing the name Calle 55, Peru, which immediately drew the attention of his Peruvian fanbase.

According to Colombian television network Telemedellin, the name of the street originates from a long-standing tradition in the city of naming certain thoroughfares and boulevards after Latin American countries. The broadcaster explained that the historical naming practice provides context for the image and does not signify an official concert announcement for Peru.

Medellin, the capital of Colombia's Antioquia department, is widely recognised as a global centre for reggaeton and Latin urban music. The Boston district, situated near the traditional city centre, contains multiple historic streets that carry continental names reflecting early twentieth-century urban planning.

Loco x Volver tour schedule

Maluma confirmed the Loco x Volver tour on his website under the same title as his recent studio album. The live dates are scheduled to span both 2027 and 2028, marking his next major international performance cycle.

The singer, born Juan Luis Londono Arias, has built an extensive global profile over the past decade through international hits and stadium appearances. His touring projects regularly draw substantial audiences throughout Latin America, where multi-country legs are standard practice for major urban music artists.

Concert promoters typically announce South American tour dates several months before ticket sales commence. Until management releases the full international schedule, Peruvian followers cannot be certain whether Lima or other regional stops will appear on the final routing.

Previous performances in Lima

The performer last staged an official concert in Peru in September 2022 as part of the Papi Juancho Maluma World Tour 2022. That performance took place on 23 September at La Pelousse, an open-air event space at the Jockey Club del Peru in Lima.

The Jockey Club del Peru, located in the capital's Surco district, is a prominent equestrian and entertainment venue frequently selected for large-scale international pop and urban concerts. The September 2022 show represents his most recent live stage appearance in the country.

Further details regarding potential South American tour stops are expected once the singer's management team publishes the confirmed concert calendar on his official platforms.
