Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal drew crowds this Tuesday during a visit to the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias, where he arrived to vacation after winning the 2026 World Cup with Spain.

Cartagena Mayor Dumek Turbay Paz welcomed him on X, calling Yamal a world football star, recent world champion with Spain and Barcelona standout, and said sports stars choose Cartagena because it is the most beautiful city in Latin America and always a good plan.

Yamal was seen walking through the streets of the Caribbean city's historic center accompanied by a security team, which shielded him from a group of fans who approached seeking photographs.
