Lady Gaga has welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky, US media reported, though no birth details have been released.

Lady Gaga Becomes a Mother for First Time

Lady Gaga has had her first child with her partner Michael Polansky, according to a report by the American press on Friday.

The 40-year-old singer, known for her hit "Bad Romance" and whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, began her relationship with Polansky in 2020, and the couple became engaged in 2024.

The outlets Page Six and People broke the news of the baby but did not offer details such as the child's name, sex or date of birth.

A wish made public

The singer, whom fans affectionately call "Mother Monster," had spoken in recent years about her desire to have a child.

In March 2025, during an interview with The New York Times, Gaga discussed her wish to become a mother and admitted that she had previously felt afraid of the idea. She said that what she really wanted was to be a mom, adding that she hoped that would be her next leading role.

Months out of the spotlight

The birth comes after several months in which Gaga considerably scaled back her public appearances. No images of the artist were publicly circulated during her pregnancy, which meant the news of her motherhood came as a surprise to her followers.

Gaga was last seen in public in August, when she stopped to take a photo with a fan in Northern California. Before that appearance, she had been seen in May at The Grove in Los Angeles during an event.

Recent career milestones

The arrival of her first child fulfills one of the wishes the "A Star Is Born" actress had expressed in recent years.

In April, Gaga wrapped up her most recent world tour, the Mayhem Ball, which included 86 concerts around the world. Her most recent album, "Mayhem," won the Grammy Award for best pop vocal album earlier this year.
