A Russian drone struck between residential buildings in Kyiv's northern Obolon district on August 29, 2026, igniting a fire across multiple floors of a 12-storey apartment block, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Klitschko reported that the blaze spread from the second to fifth floors of the high-rise building, where emergency services were deployed to control the fire. The mayor added that medical personnel were also dispatched to handle calls in the capital's Podilskyi district following the raid.
Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, has been a recurring target of air attacks since the Russian Federation launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
