The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max flagship smartphone has become available to international customers with worldwide shipping prior to its official global announcement, starting at $1,200.
Buyers in many countries across the globe can now order the high-end device, although Russia is excluded from the delivery list. Honor, a Chinese consumer technology company based in Shenzhen, has designed the handset around a premium mobile camera system and heavy-duty hardware specs.
The smartphone features a 6.8-inch flat OLED display with a resolution of 1320 x 2868 pixels. The panel supports 1.07 billion colors, complete DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, high dynamic range (HDR) content, and a peak brightness level of 5,000 nits. Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens allow individual pixels to emit their own light, delivering deep black levels and sharp contrast.
To optimize power efficiency, the screen uses LTPO technology to adjust its refresh rate automatically between 1 Hz and 120 Hz depending on displayed content. The phone body is built to withstand harsh environments, holding triple IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. An IP69K rating indicates protection against high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
Processor and storage options
Under the hood, the device runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 single-chip system paired with an Adreno 850 graphics processing unit. Developed by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon platform delivers top-tier processing power for mobile gaming and heavy multitasking. Buyers can choose configurations with 12 GB or 16 GB of high-speed LPDDR5X RAM, combined with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of internal storage. The smartphone does not support expandable memory via a memory card slot.
Dual 200-megapixel camera system
The primary camera array centers on two separate 200-megapixel camera modules. The main camera features a 1/1.28-inch sensor equipped with optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto lens that offers 3.5x optical zoom capability. Periscope telephoto designs use internal mirrors to fold light paths, providing extended zoom range inside thin phone bodies.
A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera rounds out the rear imaging setup, while a 55-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. Powering the system is an 8,800 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging alongside 80 W wireless charging.
