Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, screenwriter and producer Brad Falchuk, have celebrated eight years of marriage. The 54-year-old Oscar-winning actress marked the milestone by sharing an affectionate tribute on Instagram.
Paltrow shared three candid moments with her husband to commemorate their anniversary. The first photograph shows the couple from behind as they walk hand-in-hand along a path, while the second shows both of them smiling at the camera while strolling through a green garden on a sunny day.
The post also featured a romantic video of the pair walking along a beach wrapped in an embrace. At one point in the clip, Falchuk kisses Paltrow on the head.
First meeting on Glee set and early romance
The couple first met in 2010 when Paltrow made a guest appearance as substitute teacher Holly Holliday on the hit musical comedy-drama series Glee, which Falchuk co-created. At the time of their initial meeting, both were married to other partners: Paltrow to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and Falchuk to producer Suzanne Bukinik.
Following their respective separations, Paltrow and Falchuk quietly began dating in August 2014. They made their first public appearance as a couple about a year later, in April 2015, when they attended the 50th birthday party of actor Robert Downey Jr., Paltrow's long-time friend and film co-star.
Private engagement and Hamptons wedding
After dating for three years, the couple became secretly engaged in 2017. They married the following year, in 2018, in an intimate ceremony held in the Hamptons, a seaside resort area on Long Island, New York.
Reflecting on their wedding during an appearance on Good Morning America in 2019, Paltrow said that they had opted for a very small ceremony. She explained that the guest list consisted primarily of long-standing friends from their elementary and high school days, describing the gathering as deeply special.
Past reflections on marriage
In a separate interview with InStyle magazine in September 2019, Paltrow spoke warmly of her relationship with Falchuk. She said that she adored her husband, describing him as brilliant and a deeply good person who encouraged her to grow in a positive way.
Paltrow added that she felt they operated as true equals in their relationship and noted that she thoroughly enjoyed being married. The actress, who won an Academy Award for Shakespeare in Love and co-starred in the Iron Man film series, continues to balance her screen career with her lifestyle company Goop.
