Greek television presenter Gregory Arnaoutoglou has paid tribute to late actress Zoe Laskari on social media to mark nine years since her death.

Arnaoutoglou shared a memorial video created by film production company Finos Film on his personal Instagram account, accompanying the post with a message reflecting on his personal friendship and phone conversations with the screen icon.

The television presenter recalled meeting Laskari several years ago when he invited her to dinner at Nisiotissa, a tavern in the suburban Athens district of Penteli that served as his regular hangout. Memories and tributes from family and colleagues

The social media post coincided with broader tributes across Greece commemorating the ninth anniversary of Laskari's passing. Production studio Finos Film released its own commemorative video honoring the actress, stating that she possessed a unique finesse and radiance that illuminated every frame of her performances.

Laskari's daughter, Maria Eleni Lykourezou, also marked the anniversary with a public message dedicated to her mother, writing that she would always honor her memory and keep her in her thoughts.

In past recollections of their life together, Laskari's husband, prominent criminal lawyer Alexandros Lykourezos, revealed details about their initial acquaintance and first date. He noted that when they first met, he had never actually seen any of her famous feature films.

Legacy of a Greek cinema star

Zoe Laskari was widely regarded as one of the most prominent leading ladies of the golden age of Greek cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. She rose to nationwide stardom after starring in the landmark 1961 drama Katiforos, produced by Finos Film, which established her status as a major cultural figure in Greek film and theater.

Throughout her multi-decade career, Laskari earned a reputation as an uncompromising artist who transitioned seamlessly from mainstream film success to demanding stage roles, continuing her theatrical work without fear of empty audience seats.

Her long-time friend Arnaoutoglou remains one of Greece's most recognizable media figures, hosting top-rated television programs and radio shows. The area where the pair first dined together, Penteli, sits on the slopes of Mount Pentelicus in northeastern Athens and is renowned for its traditional Greek dining spots.
