Greek authorities rescued about 32 migrants who were traveling aboard a boat in the sea 62 nautical miles south-southwest of Cape Tainaro, the southern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula.

The rescue operation was coordinated by Greece's Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, with assistance from a ship flying the flag of the United Kingdom, which picked up those on board.

The rescued migrants are being taken to the port of Kalamata, where the competent authorities are expected to carry out the standard procedures.
